Choosing to Love

Those who have the courage to love should also have the courage to suffer. – A. Trollope

God took the biggest risk ever when He gave man the opportunity to reject Him, and reject Him we did. Oh, but there was the CROSS! AMEN!

The true nature of love is that it is the biggest risk one can take, for it opens us up to total rejection and humiliation, pain, suffering, and abandonment, and being used.  But the rewards of love far outweigh the negatives. And without the giving and receiving of love we are incomplete, and we miss a key component of our being made in God’s image. Life and love were never guaranteed to work out the way we want, but God did say in the end “all things would work for our good.” Besides, all of the negatives mentioned would come with life’s circumstances regardless, even if we decided never to love. The choice is ours.

Until tomorrow……

Love suffers long and is kind….does not seek its own…..bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.” – I Corinthians 13:4,5,7 (NKJV)
