The one person in my life who I’ve had the hardest time in saying ‘NO’ to is me. – D.L. Moody
King Solomon refused his heart no pleasure or desire, but in the end he said it was all ‘meaningless.’ Only obedience to God mattered. Hmm!
God made us with the ability to make our own decisions, but He also allows the consequences of those decisions to follow through. Good decisions, discipline, and planning usually produce a bountiful harvest. Bad, rushed, or foolish decisions usually produce heartache and suffering. Though we don’t like to withhold anything from ourselves, it is wise to do so at times if we are to live a righteous life before God and a productive life in society. If we remember ‘it’s not all about us’ this becomes an easier task. True, everything does belong to God and he wants to bless us immensely, but we must remember He promised to fulfill all our ‘needs’ not all our wants. Rest assured you will need to say NO to yourself several times today!
Until tomorrow…..
