The gospel is open to all, the most respectable sinner has no more claim on it than the worst. –D. Loyd-Jones
Jesus brought salvation to Levi and Zacchaeus almost instantly, regardless of their past. Hmm!
Admittedly sometime, we all find it hard to forgive someone or go the extra mile for them. They just seem to hit that ‘nerve’ that shuts down our heart’s desire for doing good. But God’s grace and forgiveness know no ethnic, cultural, social, or political boundaries. His love is actually for everyone, yes everyone. We don’t get to pick and choose who we’ll share it with, we’re just commanded to love them. What is sad is that often we don’t live by this dictum. Many ‘Christians’ live their lives in such a way that they reflect the exact opposite of the message: “God’s love is only for those who are like us.” They seem to forget they themselves were once on the outside looking in, or mired in sin and needing help. Jesus established the church to reach all mankind, and it has no walls. So if Jesus truly is the “Bread of Life” offering Himself to everyone, then surely He requires that we be the waiters and waitresses that serve mankind.
Until tomorrow…..
