If you have to choose between pleasing God and pleasing others, just keep in mind God is more likely to remember. – Anon
Job refused to bend to the will of his wife to “curse God and die.” God remembered and restored him double. Hmm!
There is a common witticism that says “no good deed goes unturned.” But in truth most good deeds are soon forgotten, trodden underfoot. The sad truth is most people believe others are here just to serve them for they are worthy of such attention. It doesn’t matter how much you had to go out of your way, or how much extra effort/expense you had to incur, they feel they deserved it. It’s true we are to esteem our neighbors rather than ourselves, but we should not wear ourselves out for others and neglect God. He is our source of life and all that we are and loves to bless us. People will forget your name and all that you did for them, but God always remembers.
Until Monday….
