God is always trying to give good things to us, but often our hands are too full to receive them. – Augustine
Jesus placed “eternal life” within reach of the rich young ruler, but he had no room for it along with his other treasures. Hmm!
There is not a person alive that would not accept a blessing. We want them, we pray for them, we look for them, and the more the better. Most, if not all of us would readily say yes to any gift God would want to give us. However, for God to bless us in one manner may often require that He take, or rather, we relinquish something else to make room in our lives for it; and that's an action we are never really eager to do. But we must ask ourselves what would we be willing to give in exchange for God’s blessings? What if they weren’t material blessings, and required hardship and suffering? Would we still want the blessing? Remember, the best things in life aren’t things.
Until tomorrow……
